ENTROPY 19910302
I make my way down the corridors of the jungle
Amid the deafening clatter and constant rumble
Which way, which route
To finally find my way out
Delirious, I move on but occasionally stumble
For the thousandth time I check my pack
Then re-secure it snugly against my back
Will it really bring the end
Of the civilization trend
What powers reside within the orb of black
Emanating wrath, again it begins to murmur
Whispering to me the necessities for murder
Disruption of society
Harbinger of savagery
Injected concepts reducing my thoughts to a blur
Black orb of entropy
Focus of chaotic energy
Black orb of entropy
Holding control over me
Outside the city I increase my gait
How long have I been in this subjected state
The question escapes me
There is only destiny
The orb assures me this is preordained fate
Beneath the trees, free of the sky's unnatural red
Withdrawing the globe I thrust it above my head
Slowly a rising scream
Penetrates my enveloping dream
Metro becomes Necropolis, the city of the dead
Shadows seep, flowing down from my hand
Draining the color from every feature of the land
Covering the city in a shade of grey
Rapidly creating a state of decay
Everything was going just as it was planned
Black orb of entropy
Slayer of society
Black orb of entropy
Forcing its will on me
Why did I pick up this manipulative ball
Because it spoke my name as I recall
Now I carry it city to city
Its influence keeps me sedate and giddy
Even as we destroy to fill death's hall
A few flee to live for another day
Forced to survive in a different way
Needing to learn fast
Forgotten lessons of the past
As the cycle turns tomorrow into yesterday
I myself died a travel-worn slave
Alone in a world I thought I could save
Promised immortality
A victim of entropy
And now no one remains to halt its wave
Black orb of entropy
Focus of chaotic energy
Black orb of entropy
Slayer of humanity
