I have seen the patterns of the stars etched upon my eyes, I have tasted their stellar dust within my mouth and heard the silent song of the void that stretches infinity to reach my straining ears. I look upon this wonder of creation and marvel at the complexity that abounds around me.
The patterns exist in every object within sight, even those too small for me to perceive. I see these sights and hunger for more. I long to discover the secrets of creation, to build these microcosms of ordered existence in such diversity that chaos appears to reign, yet structure holds ultimate sway.
I long to stretch forth my hand and stir the objects, the very material of my cosmos and watch the eddies begin to form patterns of their own. To see the beginnings of life in the expiration of time. To witness a span of eons in a heartbeat and to feel the titanic weight of a star's gravity press upon my heart with a passion unbridled by the struggling thoughts of a mortal shell. To create, to truly fashion something new, a system to span time, so incredibly beautiful in its majestic movement as to make a thinking man weep with the awe of his surroundings. From the cascade of water over a granite cliff, to the swell of the sea against the rocks, from the towers of stone that weather centuries to the fine blade of grass which blows beneath a crimson sky at sunset.
These are my ambitions, these are my dreams, these are the thoughts which stir my soul and leave me to hunger for experiences beyond those of my brethren, to yearn for that beyond thescope of man.
For the moment, I watch, for nature has many lessons to teach this questing child. Surrounding me are vistas so complex I swoon beneath the trial of comprehension, for ever deepening is the spiral of detailed existence within my vision, ever more complex is the world we find ourselves inhabiting. Will we find our immortality, and hence the time and tools to comprehend the existence we find ourselves in?
This is my fervent wish. This is indeed my sacred dream.
